Chateau Lacombe Hotel Parking Structure Repairs
Project Description:
CWP Constructors is currently undertaking the structural restoration of the Chateau Lacombe Hotel’s parking structure, a critical project designed to ensure the long-term safety and functionality of this aging structure. The restoration includes extensive structural repairs and the replacement of damaged precast concrete panels. The project is essential not only for the safety of the public but also to reopen river valley walking paths that were previously closed due to debris falling from the structure.
This project comes with a unique set of challenges, including working in an operational parkade with ongoing public access, performing repairs at significant heights, and addressing complex technical issues associated with an aging structure. Despite these challenges, CWP is committed to delivering a high-quality, safe, and timely restoration, ensuring the parking structure meets modern safety standards while minimizing disruption to the hotel’s operations and the public.

Southgate Parking Repairs
Project Description:
As part of an ongoing restoration initiative by the building owners, CWP is presently executing a continuation of our 2019 scope through a multi-year restoration project at Southgate Mall. The program comprises concrete topping, insulation, and waterproofing removals, drainage upgrades, structural concrete and steel repairs, installation of new waterproofing and insulation, and placement of concrete topping. Another distinctive aspect involves the removal and construction of a new access ramp and stairs leading to a major tenant space.

AHS East Edmonton Health Center
Project Description:
The scope of work included the removal of the existing asphalt and fill in the surface parking lot to repair leaks in the underground parking structure’s waterproofing system. This work was followed by structural concrete repairs inside including delamination repairs on beams, walls, and interior building concrete elements. Following this, structural concrete repairs were conducted indoors, addressing delamination on beams, walls, and other interior concrete elements. The project also encompassed the removal and application of joint sealants, traffic deck coatings, and epoxy pressure injection to repair cracked concrete.

Cedarbrae Parking and Plaza Repairs
Project Description:
The project involved replacing the failed waterproofing membrane on the roof of a parking structure. Our comprehensive scope of work included removing the existing asphalt and waterproofing membrane, performing concrete repairs to the roof slab, and installing a new waterproofing membrane, insulation, and asphalt topping. The result? A leak-free parking structure and a delighted owner!

7th Street Plaza Deck
Project Description:
This project consisted of the removal and replacement of a plaza deck encompassing 7th Street Plaza. The scope of work included the removal of the existing deck, insulation, and waterproofing membrane followed by concrete repairs to base slab and installation of a new waterproofing membrane, insulation, and concrete topping. Entire deck was hoarded and heated throughout the period of the project. This project also involved working with the public and client to accommodate the pedestrian, vehicle traffic, and public transportation around the work zone.

Alberta Health Services Parkades
Project Description:
Project consists of rehabilitation of 5 parkades for Royal Alexandra Hospital and Glenrose Hospital. The scope of work included the removal of the existing asphalt overlay, removal of existing waterproofing, followed by structural concrete repairs and the installation of a new waterproofing membrane, insulation, and plumbing works for existing drainage systems. Project also includes delamination repairs on beams, walls, and exterior building concrete elements. This project involves working with Alberta Health Services requiring full compliancy with Health and Safety Standards.

Rosedale Place Condominium Plaza Deck Restoration
Project Description:
This project is a removal and replacement of the plaza deck around the Rosedale Condominium. The work consists of removal of the existing plaza deck system, repair to the structural concrete and pre-cast panel system, installation of a new waterproofing system. New drains and associated plumbing, new concrete topping, planters, paving stone and landscaping. New lighting and associated electrical works as well as new staircases and wheelchair ramps.

44 Capital Boulevard Plaza Restoration
Project Description:
This project consists of demolition and removal of the existing plaza deck. Removal of the old waterproofing system, demolition, and repair of the existing structural slab, replacement of the existing drains, plumbing and associated electrical system. Installation of a new waterproofing membrane, installation of a new concrete topping and new concrete planters, associated electrical works, and associated landscaping works. All work is was completed above the existing parking structure space. This success of this project was integral to the renewal of the Capital Boulevard area and Edmonton’s downtown core. The project has received recognition in the architectural and property management communities.

All work is was completed above existing parking structure space. Working with the public and client to accommodate the pedestrian and vehicle traffic through work zones during high profile events at Rodgers place was paramount to the success of the project. The success of the project has garnered high level BOMA-Best awards for the building operators and owners, and received attention in the architectural community for the beauty of the finished plaza deck.

WCB Central and Jarvis Parking Structure
Project Description:
This project involved Parking Structure repairs at the WCB Central and Jarvis buildings. The scope of work included repairs to the structural concrete slabs, beams, and columns. Installation of a new drainage system, application of traffic deck coatings and waterproofing. The project required extensive planning and coordination with WCB personnel due to the sensitive nature of the work. CWP performed the project on budget and ahead of schedule with no safety incidents. As a result of our safety performance, quality of workmanship, and the manner our management team delivers projects CWP has secured a spot on WCB’s list of trusted contractors to bid on future projects.

Edmonton City Centre East Parkade Suicide Prevention Barriers
Project Description:
This project was constructed along the top of the 11-story City Centre East Parkade located in downtown Edmonton. It involved the procurement and installation of an architectural weathering steel forest thicket encircling the roof of the parking garage as well as the installation of crisscrossing cables descending the parking structure’s central ramp. The suicide prevention barriers are the first of their kind in the city and CWP Constructors Ltd is proud to have been involved in such an innovative project.

ATB Place South Plaza Deck and Concourse Restoration
Project Description:
Plaza re-development over the southern and eastern property limits around the ATB and Telus office towers located at 10030 MacDonald Dr. NW Edmonton, AB. The project consists of demolition and removal of the existing wear surface and planters. Removal of the old waterproofing system, demolition and repair of the existing structural slab, replacement of the existing drains, plumbing and associated asbestos abatement. Installation of a new waterproofing membrane, installation of a new concrete topping and new concrete planters, associated electrical works, new railing installation and associated landscaping works. All work is being completed above existing tenant space. Working with the public and client to accommodate the pedestrian and vehicle traffic through work zones is paramount to the success of the project.

Project Description:
Complete rehabilitation of an 11 story parkade in downtown Edmonton. Scope included the removal of asphalt and waterproofing membrane, performing concrete repairs to the slab, beams and columns, installation of new drains and the replacement of membrane, asphalt and concrete curb. Traffic management and the general public were the largest risks on this project as the parkade remained operational throughout construction.
